Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Bitnook GmbH (“Mutator”) for use of the Mutator service. By creating an account you accept them.

What Mutator does

Mutator connects the marketing tools you already pay for, runs them in an order you design, and publishes the results to accounts you have connected. It generates content on your instruction. It publishes nothing on its own: a post exists only once you have chosen the file, the account and the time.

Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account, for keeping your password to yourself, and for the people you invite into your workspace. You must be 18 or older to use Mutator, and old enough to enter a contract where you live. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

What you publish is yours, and your responsibility

You keep ownership of everything you put into Mutator and everything it produces for you. We claim no rights over your content beyond what is needed to run the service for you.

Because Mutator publishes on your behalf, you are responsible for what goes out: that you have the rights to it, that it complies with the rules of the platforms you publish to, and that it meets the disclosure requirements that apply to AI-generated and commercial content where you are. Mutator marks AI-generated posts where a platform supports it, unless you switch that setting off, but the obligation is yours.

Content we will not carry

Do not use Mutator to make, upload or publish:

• nudity: exposed genitals, bare buttocks, or exposed female nipples or areolae — including a nude person posed or framed so that those parts are covered or out of shot;
• sexual activity, or sex toys;
• anything sexual involving minors, or anyone who appears to be one;
• graphic violence: violence with weapons, blood and gore, visible self-harm, and dead bodies;
• symbols of hate;
• anything unlawful, anything that impersonates a real person without their agreement, or anything designed to harass a specific person.

Swimwear, underwear, lingerie, sportswear, a man without a shirt, and kissing are not treated as nudity or sexual activity. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules. They apply from 14 September 2026.

Prompts, captions, titles, uploaded files and everything Mutator generates are checked automatically against this list before anyone can see or publish them. Anything that fails is withheld: a prompt or caption is refused, and a picture or video is not stored by Mutator, with the credits spent on it returned. If a check cannot be made, nothing is released until it can. The checking is done for us by the company named for it in our privacy policy, which also says what that company may keep. Automated checks can be wrong in both directions, so they do not change who is responsible for what you publish. When you generate on your own provider account, that provider may keep, and bill you for, what it made even when Mutator withholds it. Trying to get round the checks breaks these terms, and we may suspend an account that does.

Photographs of real people

You may use a photograph or a recording of a real person only if you have their permission. By uploading one you are telling us three things: that the person is an adult, that they agreed to their face or voice being used to make videos like the ones you are making, and that you could show us that agreement if we asked.

Do not upload a picture of someone you do not represent, including a public figure, a picture taken from someone’s account without asking them, or a picture of a child.

If a person tells us their face or voice was used without their agreement, we will withhold what was made from it and we may suspend the account that made it. They can write to us at hello@mutator.app, whether or not they have an account here.

Characters that Mutator draws are not real people, and a resemblance to someone real is accidental. Using one to pass as a real person is the impersonation the rules above forbid.

Third-party providers

Generating can run one of two ways, and which one applies depends on how the account is set up.

• On your own provider account. You connect it, their terms govern your use of it, and they bill you directly for what you generate. Mutator does not resell them or mark them up.
• On ours. Where you have not connected your own, generating runs on accounts Mutator holds and is paid for with your workspace’s credits. In that case we are the provider’s customer, not you, and what you write is sent to them by us — the companies involved are listed in our privacy policy.

Either way, if a provider changes its API, prices or rules, that affects Mutator too and is outside our control.

Whichever way you generate, what you write, upload and generate is also checked against the content rules above by the company Mutator uses for that, on our account rather than yours.

Paying for Mutator

Mutator is subscription software, billed monthly in advance through Stripe. The current plans are Pro at $39/month, Growth at $89/month, Studio at $199/month. New accounts need no card to sign up: you can build an automation, look around, and spend the welcome credits every new workspace is granted — including on runs. Once those credits are used, running needs a card, and that is when the 7-day free trial starts, counted from the day the card arrives rather than from signup. The card is not charged for the trial, at the start of it or at the end. The trial covers a set number of runs, shown on your billing page. When it ends your automations and schedules pause and everything you have made stays in your workspace; choosing a plan puts the automations back on, and any schedule you had set needs switching on again.

Each paid plan includes a monthly allowance of credits, which is what pays for generating on Mutator’s own provider accounts. Different kinds of generation cost different amounts — a video costs more than a picture — and the current rates are shown on the pricing page. Credits included with a plan expire at the end of the billing period they were granted for, and do not roll over. Credits from anywhere else do not expire: the ones a new workspace starts with, credits you buy as a pack, and any we add ourselves. Publishing, scheduling and analytics do not use credits.

You can cancel at any time from the billing portal and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Beyond the cancellation rights below, we do not refund part-months. If we change prices, existing subscribers are told before it applies to them.

Plans and credits bought in the Mutator app are billed by Apple or Google under their terms. A plan renews each month until you cancel it in your Apple ID or Google account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends, and refunds for those purchases are asked for from Apple or Google.

Credit packs

A credit pack is a one-off purchase, separate from a plan. The credits are added to your workspace as soon as the payment clears, which is why the checkout asks you to confirm you want them straight away. Confirming that is what ends the 14-day right to cancel described below, and it ends it for that pack only.

Cancelling within 14 days

If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, you have 14 days from the day you buy to cancel a distance contract for a service, without giving a reason. Tell us at hello@mutator.app and we will act on it.

Starting a plan does not give this right up. If you cancel a plan within 14 days we refund what you paid, less a proportionate amount for the days you had access. A credit pack is different, because the credits are supplied at once: confirming that at the checkout is what ends the right, and it is the only thing that does.

Nothing in these terms takes away a right the law where you live gives you and does not let you sign away.

Availability

Mutator is provided as-is. We work to keep it running and to publish what you schedule, but we do not promise uninterrupted service, and we cannot guarantee a third-party platform will accept a given post. Scheduled work may be delayed by a provider outage.

Ending it

You can delete your workspace or your whole account from Settings at any time; deletion is permanent. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or with reasonable notice if we discontinue the service.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Mutator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or lost content, and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of Switzerland. If we make a material change we will tell account holders by email before it takes effect.
